Colleen Kurtz, LCSW, FNTP

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner

Colleen began her health journey after years of battling a variety of symptoms including migraines, endometriosis, chronic fatigue, joint pain, skin issues, digestive disturbances, and more, with an eventual diagnosis of Celiac disease.  After becoming tired of being prescribed pharmaceuticals with no real relief, Colleen sought out dietary and nutritional changes as a means of achieving optimal health, with success.

Colleen holds a Bachelors in Psychology from Western Michigan University and Masters in Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago, Jane Addams College of Social Work.  Colleen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and throughout her social work career, she has worked in outpatient mental health, medical, hospice, and psychiatric settings.  During this time, her passion for preventive health grew as well as a focus on how mental health is connected to the food we eat.  Her own experience led to her seeking additional training through the Nutritional Therapy Association, becoming a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, so she could help others on their health journey.  She additionally completed basic training for Nutrition Response Testing, a form of muscle testing, to further get to the root cause of dysfunction in the body.

Her passion lies in digestive health, mental health (anxiety, depression, Neurodevelpmental disorders, grief and loss, pregnancy support, pregnancy and infant loss, eating disorders), hormonal balances, weight loss, and blood sugar dysregulation. Colleen is excited to join you on your health journey.

Colleen lives in Oak Park with her husband and two little girls.  She enjoys cooking, gardening, traveling, and DIY home projects.  Colleen looks forward to working with you on your health journey.
