Today, we welcome the Chinese New Year! We consulted our acupuncturist team to reflect on what we are leaving behind from this past year & ideas we should embody for the year to come.

We welcomed The Year of the Wood Snake in 2025. The Wood represented the durability & growth of the Snake as it sheds what it has outgrown & adapts to new beginnings.

Each Lunar New Year alternates Yin & Yang - 2025 was a Yin year. The 2025 Yin showed us the power of introspection, nourishment, and slowing down to allow room for our transformations to take place.

It seems there is no better zodiac for 2026 to follow the previous cycle of rebirth & renewal - The Year of the Fire Horse!

The Snake led us to reflect inward & embrace new challenges, now we ride these transformations with the power of the Horse. The Year of the Fire Horse is distinctive: The Horse is generally symbolic of movement & freedom, but the added Fire element intensifies this combination with boldness.

Here are theme words for Year of the Fire Horse:

  • Action & momentum

  • Passion

  • Courage & confidence

  • Independence

  • Illumination & clarity

This Year of the Fire Horse is a Yang Year - Increasing the fiery energy that is expansive, bright, fast moving & warm!

The combination of Yang & Fire can be compared to the power of the sun! It will be a great time to use this momentum to our advantage & make the transformations in our lives that we were contemplating last year.

To better understand the Yin & Yang of zodiac years - A Yin & Fire could be seen as a candle - The same element is involved, but at a different force!

The energy of this year may come on strong & fast! It’s equally important to stay rooted & find a sustainable balance - Wherever there is fire, the potential for burn out exists.

We may feel a sense of impatience, impulsiveness, or exhaustion from doing too much too fast. Avoid overexerting yourself & becoming consumed by the fire. Instead, focus on creating intentional habits and remembering that it is necessary to slow down & be still. Move into this new year with assertiveness, optimism & trust in your instincts - You know exactly who you’re meant to be. Happy Chinese New Year!

Wishing you the best,
